Courses and Workshops

"Two little eyes to look around,
Two little ears to hear a sound,
One little nose to smell what's sweet,
One little mouth that likes to eat."

-Traditional nursery rhyme

tummy massage... note the eye contactThe skills you learn and develop in an Idibidi Kids course or workshop enable you to continue massaging your child at home, as well as having fun interacting with your child doing various movement and developmental activities together. We encourage you to continue massage on a daily basis to assist your child's health, wellbeing and development. This is positive interaction and communication between parent and child.

You will feel confident and empowered, knowing how to correctly perform a massage sequence on your child, as well as to be able to understand and interpret your child’s body language in relation to whether he or she would like a massage. The various courses all require parental (or caregiver) interaction and involvement - this is crucial in helping your child's health and development.

What physiotherapists think about infant massage
Ref: IAIM Annual Conference 2004

“Touch is a powerful communication tool between mother and baby. A happy, relaxed, loved baby exudes love in return . A mother who feels loved and nurtured will be in the best of health!”
Tracey, Senior Maternity Physiotherapist

“Familiarity with muscle tone, what is normal for the child is great. If the baby is in pain you may get rigidity. Massage may alleviate this”
Caroline, Gynaecology Physiotherapist
